Sarfaraz Khan hits a boundary against the spin during double ton

Sarfaraz Khan on Wednesday, 3rd October, became the fourth-youngest player to score a double-hundred in the Irani Cup as Ranji Trophy holders Mumbai clashed with the Rest of India in Lucknow.

Sarfaraz, aged 26 years and 346 days, accomplished the landmark in 253 deliveries on the second day. His Mumbai teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal is the youngest to achieve the feat at 21 years and 63 days.

Pravin Amre (22 years and 80 days) and Gundappa Viswanath (25 years and 255 days) are the other two batters ahead of Sarfaraz on that list.

Sarfaraz ended the second day of the Irani Cup clash unbeaten on 221 runs. This was also the highest score by a Mumbai batter in the Irani Cup, surpassing the 195 runs crafted by Ramnath Parkar in 1972.
