Toss delayed due to rain in India-England semi-final

England have won the toss and have opted to field in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final versus India. Both teams are unchanged for the high-stakes clash.

Throughout the tournament, India have preferred to put runs on the board and then unleash their spinners upon the opposition. England, on the other hand, have always looked to field first and then chase the runs down.

Teams:
India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah

England (Playing XI): Philip Salt, Jos Buttler(w/c), Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley

South Africa will compete with the winner of this match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on 29th June. Rohit and Kohli walk out to the middle. Micheal Atherton reckons that the conditions are swing for bowling at the moment – very hot and humid. Guyana is usually a bat-first wicket, but it has been under the covers due to the rain and could play tacky.
