Sanju Samson advances to hit colossal sixes over long-off

India A clinched The Duleep Trophy 2024 game against India D in emphatic fashion. They took the first innings lead and then notched up 380 to set a target of 488 to the India D team.

Chasing such an imposing total on a deteriorating surface always looked improbable from the onset. Ricky Bhui was the only batter to kick on and get a noteworthy score as the India A spinners – Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani – handed their team timely strikes. The duo was also instrumental in taking Mayank Agarwal’s team to 290 in the first innings with a defiant stand after they’d lost five wickets in a session.

As things stand, all the three teams India A, India B and India C have a chance to win the Duleep Trophy this year and that sets up a delicious final round of games. India C will clash against India A and India B will take on India D next up.
