Harry Brook slams fourth hundred on the trot in Pakistan

Harry Brook led England's recovery.

Joe Root accomplished his 35th Test ton and became England’s all-time leading run-scorer in Test cricket on what proved to be yet another leather-hunting day for the bowling side in Multan. He was complemented superbly by Harry Brook (141*) and Ben Duckett (84) in England’s magnificent reply to Pakistan’s 556. They ended the third day, trailing only by 64 with seven wickets still in hand.

Brook attained his fourth Test ton in as many Tests in Pakistan in the final session to jump on the milestone-setting bandwagon Root was on through the course of the day. The right-handers dug into Pakistan’s attack over the final two sessions, with 141 runs coming off the last.

With that 35th ton, the former England skipper is now behind only five batters in that illustrious list. Pakistan’s attempts to break the stand were to no avail as the pair comfortably saw England through to Stumps.

Brief scores: England 492/3 (Joe Root 176*, Harry Brook 141*, Ben Duckett 84, Zak Crawley 78) trail Pakistan 556 by 64 runs
