Pakistan home season: Tests against Bangladesh, England and West Indies announced

Pakistan is all set to host New Zealand and South Africa for a tri-series that shall consist of three round-robin games and a final. While the Associate nations actively engage in tri-series and quadrangular tournaments, multi-national tournaments outside the ICC events have been rare among the full-member nations. The tri-series is a microcosm of a packed 2024-25 season for Pakistan wherein they will be hosting Bangladesh, England and West Indies for Tests before the aforementioned tri-series.

After the home commitments are done with, Pakistan will travel to Australia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. While the trips to Down Under and Zimbabwe comprise of three ODIs and as many T20Is apiece, the tour of South Africa will also include two Tests. Pakistan’s home season is slated to kick off from August 21 with the two-match Test series against Bangladesh followed by three Tests against England in October. This will be ensued by the away tours after which the tri-series will be held in February 2025. The Champions Trophy that Pakistan are hosting follows next.

“The visits by five top cricket playing nations in the lead-up to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, followed by seven countries participating in the event proper over the next eight months, also highlight Pakistan’s standing and stature in international cricket. We deeply value the participation of these teams and players, who will bring immense talent and competitive spirit to our fields,” said PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
