Shaheen Hunters batter Sediqullah Atal produced the unthinkable in the 10th match of the Kabul Premier League as he smashed Amir Zazai of Abasin Defenders for seven maximums in a row, to script the herculean feat of amassing 48 runs in one over.
Zazai overstepped on the first ball of the over which was dispatched for six with consummate ease. Wilting under pressure, he bowled a wayward delivery that resulted in five wides. The 21-year-old Atal proceeded to replicate the dazzling pyrotechnics of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had hammered Shiva Singh for seven consecutive maximums in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last year.
Sediqullah Atal concluded his innings on 118 not out in 56 deliveries, with seven fours and 10 sixes to his name. His no-holds-barred assault helped Shaheen Hunters to 213/6 in the stipulated 20 overs. The bowling group had the cushion of runs on the board, and had no trouble in restricting Abasin Defenders to 121 runs in 19 overs to register a massive 92-run win.
48 runs from 1 over. @Sediq_Atal26 is now in the cricketing history books. Equalled Rituraj Gaikwad's 7 sixes in an over. Poor Amir Zazai, almost escaped a heartache. This 💯 must open the doors of international cricket & leagues for Atal. 🇦🇫 #FutureStar #WorldRecord #SevenSixes pic.twitter.com/Ntt0lkZVUm
