Josh Tongue produces an inswinging beauty to castle David Warner

Tongue strikes.

Having troubled David Warner on a couple of occasions, Josh Tongue has bowled the southpaw with a nip-backer on the other side of Lunch, leaving Australia at 96/2.

The Australian openers were probed with outside-off channels but they managed to get through the first session almost unscathed until Usman Khawaja decided to shoulder arms to a Tongue delivery and lost his poles at the stroke of Lunch. He departed for 17, having batted for 70 deliveries. Australia, though, were be the happier team heading into the break, having made reasonable progress for the loss of a single wicket.

The visitors needed to continue the good work post Lunch and were banking on Warner, who raised his fifty off only 66 deliveries. Having struck six fours, the left-hander reached the milestone with his first six, pulling a Tongue delivery over the fence. The southpaw had scored the bulk of the runs in the half-century stand alongside Khawaja, with the pair bringing up the milestone in the 19th over.
