Glenn Maxwell takes on Chris Jordan’s bumpers

Maxwell pulls.

Mumbai Indians were not the favourites to lift the IPL trophy this time around. Jasprit Bumrah was unavailable, Jofra Archer wasn’t fully fit and they got off to an underwhelming start as well. But the five-time champions have shown the stomach for a fight to climb up to the third spot in the table. They chase down a 200+ total for the third time this season. And this time, they finished the job with as many as 21 balls to spare. RCB have been shattered. It isn’t easy to bounce back from a defeat like this but they have their task cut out.

Suryakumar Yadav was the cynosure of all eyes tonight. He scored his third successive fifty at the Wankhede this season. The unorthodox right-hander pummeled RCB into submission. Suryakumar and Nehal Wadhera were only dealing in boundaries at one point. MI were 141/3 after 13 overs. They needed only 59 to win from seven overs, and breached the target in a canter.
