Harry Brooks sets IPL alight with 55-ball century

Harry Brook tons up.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have posted a formidable 228/4 after being asked to bat. Whether dew comes into play or not, SRH will take this total happily. Harry Brook had a poor run this far playing on pitches that weren’t batter friendly, but he saw a featherbed here, along with small boundaries and pounced on the opportunity.

KKR came up with some really poor new ball bowling, but spin brought them back as Brook shut shop. The shots he played looked effortless, as the ball flew quite a distance at the Eden Gardens.

”I’ve had a bit of trouble with spin, but I wanted to use the powerplay to my advantage. So middle overs wanted to rotate strike and let the other boys do the hitting. It is a belter of a pitch, we need to bowl our lengths rightly and take wickets,” Harry Brook reflected on his maiden IPL century.

Chasing 229 is really difficult and KKR got to pull off a miracle against this high-quality bowling line up that SRH has. Washington Sundar comes on as impact sub for Brook. Meanwhile, Venkatesh Iyer is padded up for KKR. It’s humid out there in Kolkata.
