England’s T20 World Cup honeymoon was over quickly as suffered their heaviest ODI defeat till date, at the iconic MCG. Travis Head and David Warner smashed centuries and put on a record opening stand at the venue – 269 runs – to lay the groundwork for an emphatic 221-run victory in the third ODI. Australia finished on 355/5 in 48 overs, leaving England to chase 364 – adjusted as per the DLS method. They were bundled out for a shambolic 142 as Australia completed their first-ever ODI series sweep over the reigning T20 and ODI champions.
