England’s women rounded off the international cricketing summer in the perfect way on Sunday, thrashing New Zealand by 203 runs to take a 4-1 series win. Batting first, the home side put on their highest-ever total in One Day Internationals against New Zealand, smashing 347/5 from their 50 overs thanks in part to the excellent start made by the openers. Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Winfield-Hill put on 95 for the first wicket, with the former going on to make a stellar 102 which put the game beyond the White Ferns from early on. Kate Cross then took the figures of 3-44 and Heather Knight 3-24 to bowl the tourists out for 144.
