Ben McDermott has had to make some unenviable decisions in order to appear for his country’s cricket team, choosing in May to miss the birth of his child in order to play in Austraila’s troublesome T20 series in Bangladesh. In this heartwarming video, McDermott gives an insight into the emotions he went through during that period, which included having to fly back from England where he was playing for Derbyshire. He reassuringly suggests it was all worth it, particularly looking at the emotional cap presentation he received from his good mate Matthew Wade in Barbados.
